URGENT! SPREAD THE WORD!

FROM BLOGS FOR TERRI:

- Via email
Dear Pro-Life Leaders,
I have received an urgent notice from one of my fellow diocesan pro-life leaders. Please pray for this newborn and that he/she will find a good home. Anything you can do to help will be appreciated. Read on.

Nick Silverio of Safe Haven for Newborns in Florida has asked that we spread the word of a disabled newborn in need of adoption.

The child, born today, has no arms, only one leg, and is missing a good portion of his jaw - but his prognosis is good. The baby was abandoned by his mother under the Florida Safe Haven law and, unless potential adoptive parents can be found, quickly, the child will become a ward of the state (and, it is feared, the target of euthanasia). The Florida Department of Children and Families will not become involved unless information is obtained that may suggest some type of abuse or neglect (which is not evident at this time). Catholic Charities in Florida is not currently able to assist with adoption services.

Please forward this information on to any agency, organization or individual that may be able to assist in locating interested potential adoptive parents.

Nick's cell phone number is 786-246-1304 and the his web site is
savehaven.

It has been my experience in the very recent past that adoptive parents for disabled infants have been found through the efforts of pro-life people who simply made the need known via e-mail.

Please pray for this baby and his biological mother as well.

Thanks! Andrea Albanese

  • I called Nick, and found out that this is old news. They have already found adoptive parents for this baby.

  • Just FYI, this notice is from at least a week ago and this baby has been adopted already. :)

  • Sherri you need better filters on your URGENT NEWS.

Ever hear of the boy who cried wolf?

  • Anonymous,
How many babies were eaten by the wolf before anyone cried?
It is Sherri's policy to err on the side of life!
This err = no life lost!
Cost of ignoring real wolf = more dead babies!

    You make the call!

  • I'm glad to hear that this baby has been adopted already however, it bothers me to know that we have so many children in the foster care system that have not been adopted. Why can't we find homes for these kids?CBT2025

  • I didnt read this till today and my heart sunk. I was glad to hear though that the baby was adopted. God bless the family that did, the road ahead is going to be hard but your reward will be great in heaven.

  • RWNJ, you are in complete denial (or defense-of-Sherri mode) if you believe that Sherri can continue to "raise the alarm" on issue that are actually non-issues.

Especially the "URGENT -- ACT NOW OR IT'LL BE TOO LATE" stuff that turns out to be bogus.

It's very simple. If she puts up, say one story a week that's URGENT -- ACT NOW, and they mostly turn out to be false or old, nobody will act anymore.

Just because she's emotional about an issue doesn't mean she should be sloppy about it.

  • Anonymous,
This is not a non-issue. It is a story that is older than it was believed to be. It seems to me that you have a real problem with someone, Sherri or otherwise, trying to save a human life. When the story was originally written, it was URGENT, so the headline is correct; it is merely the timing that is wrong. Your sniping is silly. You seem to be playing a really ugly game of "Gotcha!", while other people in this world are trying to make a difference for the sake of human lives.
Please go find something that you care about enough to make a positive difference. Your insults and criticism serve no purpose, waste your time, and present you as an extremely petty person. I believe that you have more value than that.

WHY CAN'T YOU FIND GOOD IN MR. SCHIAVO?

  • WHY CAN'T YOU FIND GOOD IN MR. SCHIAVO?

    DW 7448, is that you?

In must be- so far you are the only one I can think of that would know so little about this and ask such a STUPID question.

Stop being so lazy. DO your own research and find out the answer for yourself!
