89 Reports of Abuse by Michael Schiavo

In a story released today by NewsMax.com, it is being reported that :
"Florida's Department of Children and Families had received nearly 90 allegations that Michael Schiavo had abused his wife in recent years - but a Florida judge ruled yesterday that DCF summaries of those allegations must remain secret."
"...state Judge George Greer ruled Friday the records belong to DCF, and although Terri Schiavo's husband can have access to the abuse files, the records cannot be made public, the Associated Press reported."
"The DCF petition said the materials were sent to its abuse hotline on Feb. 18 and Feb. 21, and by law, the agency had to conduct an investigation."
So now it comes to this! According to George Greer, the alleged criminal can have access to the reports of his crimes, the public cannot. The victim will be executed at the whim of the alleged criminal. But the Department of Children and Families is prohibitted from investigating or intervening on behalf of the victim -- their only duty according to Florida law.
How many of you still don't see a problem here?

This is a handicapped woman.
Abused? HUH? Give me a break. 13 bone fractures don't prove abuse. Maybe she was an avid skier down there in Florida. You people are nutz.
Even if she was abused, more reason to kill her. How cruel for you people to sentence this woman to a life. How dare you incite demands for more tests, modern technology, investigations, and therapy. Anyone can see that the real compassionate thing to do is kill her. Especially by dehydration. It is painless. It is peaceful. There are no siezures. The morphine was for her breathing! C'mon- we didn't want cameras int he room because YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE PEACE! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! THE TRUTH IS FOR US TO SEE AND TELL YOU WHAT IT IS!
Those silly family members wanting you to see the truth for yourself? Pahleeze! How silly. You are too stupid to know the truth-- we will tell you what it is, okay?

I wonder if a law suit is pressed against Michael Schavio by her parents or others to prove she has been abused - will the lawyers have the right to view the abuse charges the DCF has investigated and gathered? I would think that that would be an abuse of power for Judge Greer to deny the right of viewing them if this would be part of proving that she was abused. But then he has been abusing his power right along. They do not let criminals or guilty parties see the charges against them before other law suits.

It's sad how you take a story, twist it around and then only post the tidbits that allow you to rant about it.
From the link you offered:
DCF attorney Jennifer Lima-Smith asked Greer to keep its records sealed, saying, "It's time to end this case."
The DCF actually told Greer how they wanted him to rule, he follows their suggestion and still you go on and on about how there's an injustice.

I doubt the DCF told Judge Greer keep its records sealed on this case. I don't think anyone can tell Judge Greer how to rule or what to do unless it fits his agenda.

I can't put my fingers on it(the source) at the moment, but the Director of DCF actually contributed to Greer's campaign.. I DO think you find that info verified at The Empire Journal though. I absolutely believe that DCF was NOT interested in truly investigating abuse, but instead they were intereted in CYA.
They were not sure what Congress, etc was going to do, or how this would all wash by the time all the facts got out. They played CYA (IMHO). If wrong doing is found, and the fact that they failed to help Terri despite 89 complaints, this would fry some careers.... at the LEAST!

Right on. I do believe that that the DCF has been told to clam up. I think when it was told that they did not need Judge Greer to approve the removal of Teri and take her into custody - I think they got there hands slapped. I do hope someone follows up on all of this.

If indeed Terri Schavio had numerous bruises and bone fractures they were caused by her condition brought on by starving herself. My best friend went through the same thing and going for a massage for her aching body turned her black and blue. Bumping her wrist against the bathroom tap caused a bad fracture. When greeted by friends and family with a friendly hug also caused extensive bruising. She never thought of this as abuse,
as she knew the cause.
If Terri had the love of her parents as she should have, they would have allowed her to pass away after the first one or two years. Terri died the day she had her heart attack.
It makes one feel ill to witness the pro-lifers and anti-abortionist make political hay out of such a sad situation. Seeking donations for their cause is even more disgusting. Dont pray for Terri, pray for your own selves and "get a life".

As for the bone fractures, there were 13 of them and they were discovered during a bone scan on March 5 1991, about 1 year and 10 days after her collapse. At this time, the fratures were "healed" fratures that did not receive treatment. Not only that, but the doctor testified that these would only show up on the bone scan for 18 months after the initial injury. At the time of the bone scan, please note that Michael was living with the Schindlers, so they had not had any falling out until 2 years later, and this was also BEFORE the malpractice suit.
I can't imagine anyone not wanting to know HOW AND WHY their wife ended up with 13 bone fractures, especially someone prone to wanting to file law suits for $$$$ for a doctors lack of care. DOn't you think a suit for 13 bone fractures while in the care of doctors would have been quite a reasonable lawsuit? Get your facts straight. The info on this is EVERYWHERE, including on this blog.
As for "raising funds." That is the great thing about AMerica. Some of us still believe we can decide which cause best deserves our money, not the gov't.
So put your little head back in the sand on the facts, and keep giving your money to the gov't since you seem to believe they can spend it better than you....

And you all bitch and moan about our president steping in to try and save this poor woman. At least he cared enough too, all you liberals are too busy looking the other way to notice or even care.Don't forget Hitler, he sent many that were ill to their death. All of you that agree with me, find comfort in the fact that there is a law of cause and effect at work in the universe, sowing and reaping, and Michael Schiavo is no exception to this rule.

If these "reports" come from the same "credible" people who posted her 2001 Examination photo as a photo of her in her last days of torture. I think I'll file them in the same place.

The only PROOF I have witnessed in any of this is your willingness to accept nonsense that fits your arguement without first researching the real facts.
Doctors examined her over and over in the past years, none of which would be willing to jeapordize their license to practice by hiding what the law says they MUST report.
Wake up and smell the coffee..
What about lawsuits against the doctors that failed to notice these injuries, what about lawsuits against the hospice that allowed it to happen. No abuse in that situation could have gone unnoticed. Orderlys in hospices have been known to abuse patients on numerous occasions, but I guess logic doesn't fit into your lame, factless attempt at making another attempt to crucify the only person in this mess who did the RIGHT thing...

I think the Shindler family needs counseling. I firmly believe that Terri died the day she had the heart attack. I would never want to see my daughter under those circumstances, and after 15 years, her parents are still in denial. I have heard that there were many hours of video taken, but we have only seen two or three clips from that tape ... what does the rest of the video reveal?
I applaud her husband for carrying out her wishes, and I have told my husband that I would hope he would do the same for me, even if my Mom and Dad was against it .... because he KNOWS what my wishes are.

I have come by a LOT of information that I didn't post or bother with because it was either rumor, insane, or WRONG!

If you believe Michael was truly driven by Terri's wishes I have a bridge for sale...
You need therapy if you think a "loving husband" finds out his wife has 13 bone fractures and never bothers to ask who, how or why..
Stop wasting your time and my time.
Make sure your wishes ARE known and help educate others to do the same...
