David Gibbs Addresses Supporters

This just in from Sherri! It is a transcript of a live recording tonight by David Gibbs, the Schindler family attorney:

"In the finest tradition of our nation, whenever there is gross injustice, the United States Congress has always stepped forward and demonstrated leadership to do what was right and to do what was fair. There was a time in this Nation's history where based on the color of your skin or based on the ethnicity you were discriminated against based on who you were. The United States Congress said we will pass the law to enforce equal protection for this nation. There was a time in this Nation's history where some states would treat men or women differently just based on their gender in the workplace or in other arenas. The Congress once again said we are going to have equality for all. There were some states that didn't treat the disabled as the able-bodied. The Congress (did) once again with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Our United States Congress has shown an ability to do what is right under the Constitution, under the Law, under their sense of fairness and justice and I am very proud of what our Congress has done."

Sherri, you have done it again!
A special thanks to Sarah D. for the transcription!

  • Sherri is on her way back to the hospice (after changing into dry clothes!), hoping to be there when the feeding tube is reinserted.

We should have some great pictures in the morning!

  • It's amazing how some of thso Democrats crying about "states rights" forget it was the states rights that kept slavery going on (and Presidents and Legislatures and JUDGES who had no balls). Not until President Lincoln came in (and with a slight Republican majority) did he do what the other weasels would not.

The Democrats are showing their true colors...

  • I am most ashamed at the Black Democrats (I am Black)...

    How soon we forget!

  • Sherri just called: They just voted. Now the bill goes to a Federal judge for approval (not sure exactly what's involved with that) then to the President.

The hospice has already been notified to be ready to re-insert the feeding tube this early morning.

  • Terri's sister spoke after the vote:

    (I'll transcribe it later, here's a synopsis)

"Thank you, we are very very very thankful that Congress passed this bill. We are very hopeful that the Federal courts will follow the rule of Congress and save my sisters life."

  • I am trusting God to be absolutely sovereign in this case and let His will be done. I pray for any evil that has been done in private to come to the light. I also pray that if it be God's will that He will totally heal Terry Schiavo, and let her tell what really happened that night so many years ago. More than anything, I pray that God will be greatly glorified in this matter !!!
