Too Dirty For Hollywood????

WARNING! Link in red leads to disturbing image.

According to The Drudge Report:

“Veteran members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have grown concerned over the choice of Chris Rock to represent the Academy before a worldwide audience…..”

In the last few weeks Rock has been quoted saying:

"Abortion, it's beautiful, it's beautiful abortion is legal………”

"Weird white guys getting overly patriotic, with their (an F-bomb) flag hats on," Rock said.

"I am not scared of al Qaeda, I am scare of (an F-bomb) al Cracker."

One audio recording captures Rock firing off more than 35 F-words per minute!

Amazingly, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had this to say:

"This is not who we are," said one top source from Los Angeles.

It’s NOT? Since when?????

What are they thinking? This is EXACTLY what I have heard out of Hollywood for the past few years. EXACTLY! They LOVE their RIGHT TO ABORT BABIES. They LOVE to make fun of “fly over country” (redneck redstaters, buffoons, un-educated, stoooopid, etc). They claim that it is the “white Christians” that are out to shove religion down peoples throats. Yes, the white Christians are intolerant, racist, and dangerous; not the terrorists that are running around sawing off heads, attacking barber shops because men are “trimming” their beards, and TARGETING innocent civilians.

This IS WHO YOU ARE!

Chris Rock is only saying it in terms that cut out all the rhetoric your “stars” use to dress it up and make it sound REASONABLE! Rock finally says it pointblank out-loud and NOW you think HE IS TOO DIRTY FOR YOU?

This is what America has been telling HOLLYWOOD! This is what the box-office sales of "The Passion" were all about!

People in The Real America have seen all these things from you, Hollywood. Who are you trying to kid by claiming that Chris Rock’s statements do not represent who you are? The mask is already off. It has been off for a while. Pop in a tape of a Chris Rock stand-up routine and consider it a mirror!

Now where did I put my flag hat? Oh, there it is, sitting under my gun rack, right on top of my Bible. Whew! Thought I was going to have to head to the Right to Life Rally without it!

  • Chris Rock, spoiled young celebrity. Never served his country, never risked so much as a hang nail. Probably the most traumatic thing he ever experienced was to change the tire on his Lexus.

A perfect metaphor for modern Hollywood.

  • Every society consists of haves and have-nots. It's pointless to gripe about that.

  • Well you are wrong Chris Rock has a Nissan Altima!!! And this is America..freedom of speech..he just has the guts to say whats on everybody elses mind!...Point Blank...The Truth Hurts....N.Mercer

  • What truth are you referring to? Sure he has the freedom to say the F-word. Most of us outgrow that by high School. As for have/have nots- in my experience it is the haves that complain the loudest about their perceived hurts and slights.
Take away his notoriety for potty talk and what's left?

oooh! oooh! I know! I know! (my best Arnold Horseshack impersonation)

a night club bum who thinks he's a genius?

WHAT? I have no idea what you are trying to say? Having respect for Freedom of speech is vital. Respecting the freedom does not mean we have to respect the speech! This piece wasn't anything about free speech. It is about Hollywood saying and acting just like what Chris Rock says, and then trying to say that he doesn't represent who they are!

    It is about HYPOCRISY.

I can respect the Freedom of Speech. I never have to agree with or accept what people say.

So can you please explain your point????

  • Being critical of Chris Rock does not equate with being anti-Free Speech. If THAT was my position I guess I'd be calling for him to be jailed or for making the F-word illegal.
Rock strikes me as another nihilistic celebrity, I wish him no ill and I hope that he finds his path to salvation.
In other terms, he can drop the F-bomb all he wants, some will call it clever, I find it tiresome.

  • And I simply think that ya'll need to grow up, get out of the house, and get lives. You know, go out there and find something better to do than to nit-pick something so trisome as what a young black comic said about Holly Wood. It's Holly Wood for pete-sake, no one should take it or anything that comes from it, in any shape, form, or fashion, seriously.

That would be HollyWood (one word) and it is not for pete-sake, it is for Pete's Sake. Why did you bother to jump into the conversation only to be rude to everyone?

Perhaps when YOU grow-up, you'll let us in on your great secret?

Now- as for HollyWood. THis is just rank and file for them. I actually enjoy Chris Rock when he is on Public TV where he has to clean up his language. I don't think he truly is more scared of Al Cracker than Al Qaeda, he just likes to do race jokes. He is actually pretty good at them. I find this joke hilarious, but I get the point that Sherri is trying to make. It's not about Rock. It is about HollyWeird.

    just a lurker!

  • Prof
Nice of you to stop in and insult us. You are missing the point however.

  • My teacher simply told me to come to this sight and put my oppinion in on these postings. I just wish ya'll had something better to talk about.

  • I don't understand what is wrong with Chris Rock saying the "F" word so many times. Our society allows everything else as being ok. If this is hollywood, so what, maybe if we didn't except what hollywood is selling, maybe we would have a little more control of what they are putting out.
