Too Dirty For Hollywood????

WARNING! Link in red leads to disturbing image.

According to The Drudge Report:

“Veteran members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have grown concerned over the choice of Chris Rock to represent the Academy before a worldwide audience…..”

In the last few weeks Rock has been quoted saying:

"Abortion, it's beautiful, it's beautiful abortion is legal………”

"Weird white guys getting overly patriotic, with their (an F-bomb) flag hats on," Rock said.

"I am not scared of al Qaeda, I am scare of (an F-bomb) al Cracker."

One audio recording captures Rock firing off more than 35 F-words per minute!

Amazingly, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had this to say:

"This is not who we are," said one top source from Los Angeles.

It’s NOT? Since when?????

What are they thinking? This is EXACTLY what I have heard out of Hollywood for the past few years. EXACTLY! They LOVE their RIGHT TO ABORT BABIES. They LOVE to make fun of “fly over country” (redneck redstaters, buffoons, un-educated, stoooopid, etc). They claim that it is the “white Christians” that are out to shove religion down peoples throats. Yes, the white Christians are intolerant, racist, and dangerous; not the terrorists that are running around sawing off heads, attacking barber shops because men are “trimming” their beards, and TARGETING innocent civilians.

Chris Rock is only saying it in terms that cut out all the rhetoric your “stars” use to dress it up and make it sound REASONABLE! Rock finally says it pointblank out-loud and NOW you think HE IS TOO DIRTY FOR YOU?

This is what America has been telling HOLLYWOOD! This is what the box-office sales of "The Passion" were all about!

People in The Real America have seen all these things from you, Hollywood. Who are you trying to kid by claiming that Chris Rock’s statements do not represent who you are? The mask is already off. It has been off for a while. Pop in a tape of a Chris Rock stand-up routine and consider it a mirror!

Now where did I put my flag hat? Oh, there it is, sitting under my gun rack, right on top of my Bible. Whew! Thought I was going to have to head to the Right to Life Rally without it!

  • Chris Rock, spoiled young celebrity. Never served his country, never risked so much as a hang nail. Probably the most traumatic thing he ever experienced was to change the tire on his Lexus.

A perfect metaphor for modern Hollywood.

  • Every society consists of haves and have-nots. It's pointless to gripe about that.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:46 PM

  • Well you are wrong Chris Rock has a Nissan Altima!!! And this is America..freedom of speech..he just has the guts to say whats on everybody elses mind!...Point Blank...The Truth Hurts....N.Mercer

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:51 PM

  • What truth are you referring to? Sure he has the freedom to say the F-word. Most of us outgrow that by high School. As for have/have nots- in my experience it is the haves that complain the loudest about their perceived hurts and slights.
Take away his notoriety for potty talk and what's left?

  • Take away his notoriety for potty talk and what's left?

oooh! oooh! I know! I know! (my best Arnold Horseshack impersonation)

a night club bum who thinks he's a genius?

  • This was interesting to read but I feel like we have to respect freedom of speech even if we don't agree with it.

  • Let's Homeschool

WHAT? I have no idea what you are trying to say? Having respect for Freedom of speech is vital. Respecting the freedom does not mean we have to respect the speech! This piece wasn't anything about free speech. It is about Hollywood saying and acting just like what Chris Rock says, and then trying to say that he doesn't represent who they are!

    It is about HYPOCRISY.

I can respect the Freedom of Speech. I never have to agree with or accept what people say.

So can you please explain your point????

By Blogger Straight Up with Sherri, at 3:30 PM

  • Being critical of Chris Rock does not equate with being anti-Free Speech. If THAT was my position I guess I'd be calling for him to be jailed or for making the F-word illegal.
Rock strikes me as another nihilistic celebrity, I wish him no ill and I hope that he finds his path to salvation.
In other terms, he can drop the F-bomb all he wants, some will call it clever, I find it tiresome.

  • And I simply think that ya'll need to grow up, get out of the house, and get lives. You know, go out there and find something better to do than to nit-pick something so trisome as what a young black comic said about Holly Wood. It's Holly Wood for pete-sake, no one should take it or anything that comes from it, in any shape, form, or fashion, seriously.

  • HUMN410 2271 Professor McKittrick

That would be HollyWood (one word) and it is not for pete-sake, it is for Pete's Sake. Why did you bother to jump into the conversation only to be rude to everyone?

Perhaps when YOU grow-up, you'll let us in on your great secret?

Now- as for HollyWood. THis is just rank and file for them. I actually enjoy Chris Rock when he is on Public TV where he has to clean up his language. I don't think he truly is more scared of Al Cracker than Al Qaeda, he just likes to do race jokes. He is actually pretty good at them. I find this joke hilarious, but I get the point that Sherri is trying to make. It's not about Rock. It is about HollyWeird.

    just a lurker!

  • Prof
Nice of you to stop in and insult us. You are missing the point however.

  • My teacher simply told me to come to this sight and put my oppinion in on these postings. I just wish ya'll had something better to talk about.

  • HUMN410 -- is that a college course? human nutrition? humanities? There are numerous other posts down here to respond to if this one doesn't interest you. (--boy, poor eevil is degraded to being REQUIRED READING.)

Try the ones on moonbattery, kerry, lobbying, abortion, and the woman who came back to speaking after 20 years in a coma. Pick one; and if you try really hard, you can write cheerfully and combatatively, without sounding surly.

  • first, sherri that last paragraph was priceless. I almost started crying.

yes hollywood is an institution of busniess, it needs to put it's best foot forward. Chris Rock might not be that "best foot", but sometimes the person who speaks the loudest leads the masses.

By Blogger dashampton, at 10:28 PM

  • I don't understand what is wrong with Chris Rock saying the "F" word so many times. Our society allows everything else as being ok. If this is hollywood, so what, maybe if we didn't except what hollywood is selling, maybe we would have a little more control of what they are putting out.

By Anonymous dor9190, at 12:11 AM

  • A lot of the posting are valid points, and I do agree with the fact that hollywood does like to act like something they are not. They want to say Chris is not representing them but if you look at majority of the things hollywood put out it reflects right back to this article, they just sugar coat it and Chris simply took the sugar off it and put in the form so the blind can see and hollywood just don't agree with that, because they like to see how long they can play around with people by sugar coating and trying to hide what they are really about.

  • - Rocky VII finally makes its debute?...."Chris Rock booked for punching DJ"....

    - No doubt he is polishing up his public image in anticipation of his upcoming gig on the acadamy awards.....Akkkkkk

    - On another front the recent TV Ad showing a group of caring "Red Stater" vacationers gathered at San Diego's Linburg Field airport greeting returning military personel from the war in Iraq has generated so much favorable response that the group responsible is planning an expansion of these Ad's....

    - The "stupid", "scumbag",
"idiots" as the Ketchup slut characterized the majority of Americans in the past campaign, apparently don't think bad mouthing our military with slogans like "We support our troops when they shoot their officers" is quite as patriotic as the Asshat anti-war leftists try to claim....

  • I like Chris Rock. Even though he has a very dirty mouth, he tells the truth. I think Hollywood only has a problem with the truth not what he is saying.
Secondly, Chris Rock is far from being spoiled. Hollywood is spoiled. They can get away with murder and its ok. Chris Rock does his job and now everyone wants to breath fire on him

By Blogger CA7350, at 9:01 PM

  • I think alot of you are taking this a little to serious. First of all Chris Rock is a comidian. Why are we about to have a cow over jokes. No true enough he may believe everything that he is saying, but just because thats his reality doesn't mean that it has to be yours. All of you need to grow up!!!!!!
