Muslims Issue bin Laden Fatwa

THIS IS SHOCKING NEWS!

Muslims issue bin Laden fatwa

SPAIN'S Islamic Commission said today it was issuing a decree against al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, in the name of whose network last year's Madrid train bombings were claimed.

"We are going to issue a fatwa (religious decree) against bin Laden this afternoon," said Mansour Escudero, who leads the Federation of Islamic religious entities (Feeri) and is co-secretary general of the Spanish government-created commission.

The commission invited Spanish-based imams (clerics) to condemn terrorism at Friday prayers, when the whole country will be remembering the 191 people who were killed in the train blasts and the 1900 injured exactly 12 months ago.

This is GREAT news for the War on Terror!

We have been calling out for Muslims to take a stand against terror. They are starting to stand tall. Theya re standing for Freedom. They are standing for Democracy. They are standing AGAINST TERROR!

BE SURE TO SUPPORT THEM!

Many will not trust them. If we do not support Muslims that are willing to risk the great danger the put themselves in when standing against terror and bin Laden, WE ARE FAILING THE WAR ON TERROR! Imagine being a Muslim. Imagine standing up against bin Laden and the terror networks. They are instantly target number one. The terrorists will not stand for Muslims speaking out against them. There is no greater threat to them than this. If we turn our backs on them now- it will be the WORST MISTAKE YET!

  • Better late than never BUT,,,

Things would have been so very different in the US and the world if the entire Muslim community had spoken out against terrorism a little sooner; like maybe after the attack on the USS Cole, or the Marine barracks in Beirut, or the embassies in Africa, or Lockerbe, or the Achille Laurel, our Twin Towers or the Pentagon. Or maybe in 1996 when bin Laden issued his Declaration of Jihad or in 1998 after he issued his fatwa against the US (Saudi Arabia and Israel).

I do applaud the clerics for taking this step (hopefully the first of many). There is simply no way to reign in the radicals unless the moderates join forces and it seems the Muslim leaders in Algeria, Libya and Morocco support the Spanish fatwa. And the fact that the majority of Spain's Muslims are of the Sunni sect and not Shiite (Bin laden is a Sunni (Wahhabi branch)) speaks volumes. Now others in Europe, in the US and hopefully the Middle East as well, will follow Spain's lead.

Maybe Muslim leaders are finally starting to realize that the entire religion has been badly damaged and they will take a more pro-active role in denouncing the fanatic extremists, the terrorist such as bin Laden and his followers.
