A Rose for Terri.....In My Hometown.

I read THIS at Blogs for Terri.

I cannot go to Michael Schiavo's house tomorrow, but I will place a rose. I will place a rose for Terri at the alter of my church. One single rose. I will also be placing a rose for Terri at the doors of City Hall in my town. No Easter Lillies for me this year.

I invite you all do to do the same...............

Posting may be light for a while. I am taking the lead of the Schindler family.......

It is time to mourn......

But I promise you Terri.......

I will never forget...........

  • This makes me cry. We are losing her, and it is so sad. What has happened to us? What has this country come to? We need to make sure this was not in vain - laws MUST change.

  • Guess everyone is gone. It's over.

  • We are still here... we are waiting...

  • Sherri,

Thank you for all you are doing. I am just absolutely sick over this. A woman is being LEGALLY MURDERED in America. We must not forget this. We must get the truth out and see justice done.

    G-d bless, and happy Easter.

  • PS - I don't know if there's anything to this, it's too early to evaluate. But Discarded Lies has a thread on a possible Scientology connection that might be worth looking into:

I went out today to Walmart... had to get some things....

Before I left, I read the post at Blogs for Terri about the roses..

    I was quite upset...

I got to the store and everyone was just oblivious....

    no worries....

    No cares...

    I was mortified...

I sat in line and thought "How many people in Germany knew and looked around seeing everyone else going on with life as usual?"

We have reached a new threshold in America..

Bobby said it right. If Terri were not disabled, this wouldn't be happening. THis is the thing that gets me.

Everyone acts like she has alzheimers or cancer... she is not terminal. she is brain damaged. That's it. So what if parents start saying "Hey, my child is handicapped..........Can't afford their care....... Quality of life will never change......"

A neighbor of mine has a little biy- Cory. He has less brain activity than Terri. Is He next? He has a feeding tube, etc...

I am in shock at how many people HONESTLY DON'T CARE!

then when you point out that this is the same arguments and the same ideology that Hitler used in the T-4 program (NOT THE DEATH CAMPS-LET'S GET THAT CLEAR BEFORE PEOPLE GO INSANE!)- they think you are saying it is like the death camps and call you nutz. Why do they call you nutz-- because that could NEVER happen in America.... OH YEAH!!!

    IT IS RIGHT NOW!

The whole T-4 program is HIDDEN form America- and to be honest- even if they knew- I still don't think they would believe it. It is like Felos coming out and saying Terri was peaceful and beautiful. You know there are people that will actually BELIEVE THIS!

G-d Bless you and thank YOU!!!!

I am finding comfort being here with you all at this hour.....

  • I have read a lot abou the Scientology possible connections...

I never posted on it, because I felt it diverted attention from Terri and added to the whole image of us Pro- Terri people looking like conspiracy theorists...

I don't discount their influence in this case at all,, but there were a few things that were a bit over the top... when they started attacking those close to the Schindlers, I stopped reading........

Some of their info is good, correct, accurate, etc...

but then they start to head off the cliff a little....

I still think people should read it though and be aware....

  • Sherri,

Exactly. Where will it end. I hope the heck Grandma doesn't get totally fed up with Grandpa when he can no longer feed himself - and he doesn't remember who he is.

This needs to be fixed. Now.

  • Which is worse: indifference or very popular comedy shows doing takes on this

I agree, I probably shouldn't announce this here and now- but what the heck...

I recently was voted as the Secretary in my distirct for the GOP... I am resigning....

Not to say I will never support another Rep. candidate, but I will not WORK for the GOP.

This will be my first step...

I will also be contacting a friend of mine who is an attorney- I helped his campaign over the summer..

I want to find out ALL the laws here in GA on these things and be sure to start FIXING THEM!

I will also continue to expose what is going on in Florida and ANYWHERE ELSE I CAN...

I will do all I can do ensure that Terri's suffering was not in vain...

I am sure I sound like I am on a soapbox right now- but after what happen to my grandma and Terri-- I am determined....

Straight Up has evolved into somehting different once again...

By Blogger Straight Up with Sherri, at 12:15 AM

  • That sounds wonderful Sherri, convictions need to be acted on. We all need to do what is necessary to make sure this doesn't happen again.

RWNJ - please, point us to the path that we need to take. I know you know what it is. :-)

  • I posted a new thread--

    TRULY AWESOME!!!

By Blogger Straight Up with Sherri, at 12:31 AM

  • compassionate conservatives is RWNJ's politically correct way of calling us a buch of bleeding heart Republicans...

    Just kidding RWNJ!

Just had to get that in there!

By Blogger Straight Up with Sherri, at 12:39 AM

  • RWNJ - I'm not sure I'm as compassionate as you deem me to be. But, I will spend my time right now praying about and contemplating what is happening in this country.

    Thanks!

  • Both men threw chairs at each other. Michael shoved a table at Schindler. The father and son-in-law put up their fists and began shouting. Mary, shaken by the show of anger, stood between the two men and physically separated them.

It was the last time they spoke
    .

That is part of a pretty long piece at the LA Times: How Friends Became Enemies

  • but then they start to head off the cliff a little....
    Are you for real?
you seem to have launched a rocket over the same cliff.
trying to compare nazi germany to the U.S. get a grip Sherri. this the same America that helps pay your way through life so you have the time to write this stuff!!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:36 AM

  • I just need to get something straight about why some people are so emotional about this. Is it due to your belief that she still has some cognitive ability, or do you believe that all people should remain on life support even if they are in a persistent vegetative state? And if you believe the latter, do you believe they should remain on life support if they have a living will? And do you believe the government should pay for it if they can't? I'm not really sure what the heart of the issue is for posters here.
