Medicare Fraud? . . . Say it ain't so, George!

In a damning article, the Empire Journal is quick to point out that Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, is no stranger to medicare fraud.

Fraud in the court and fraud in the hospice.

According to this article, Mr. Felos "forgot" to give notice to the court and to the parents of Terri Schiavo, that he was chairman of the board of directors at the Hospice of Florida Suncoast, Inc. when Terri was moved from the Palm Gardens Nursing Home in March, 2000.

He also "forgot" to tell the court that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USHHS) was actively trying to recover nearly Fifteen Million Dollars that was paid to the corporation in fraudulent Medicare payments. It seems that
USHHS contends that patients certified as terminally ill were not, in fact, terminally ill, and therefore ineligible to be admitted to the facility under Medicare.

Do you detect a certain "pattern" here, or am I just being cynical?
Please excuse me while I act disgusted.
